          The answer is that now IS a very good time to buy real estate in Southern Colorado, and local Realtors and lenders want to make sure everyone knows that.  Here's why: mortgage interest rates are still very low, there is a great inventory of homes for sale, and our local economy remains stable.

          If you're thinking of selling a home, you may be asking, "If it's such a perfect time to buy a home, what does that mean for me as a seller?"  Another good question.  Consider these statistics for our marketplace*:  in 2007, there were 1,202 residential sales, compared to 1,348 in 2006.  The average days on the market for homes sold in 2007 increased by 8 days over the 2006 average days on market. (*Source: Royal Gorge Association of Realtors "Residential Sold Reports" for 2006 and 2007 "as interpreted by the office of the Participant")   While these figures reflect a slight tilt in favor of buyers,  they also show that all is NOT gloom and doom for home sellers in Fremont County!
